Shade S. Cooper is a third-year student in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University–Newark, pursuing a B.A. in Public Administration with an expected graduation in Fall 2027. She also holds an Associate of Liberal Arts from Raritan Valley Community College. A veteran, Shade brings proven leadership, project management, and operational expertise to her academic and professional pursuits.
In her professional experience, Shade has led team-based initiatives, optimized complex operations, and enhanced organizational efficiency, demonstrating a strong commitment to accountability, transparency, and results-driven outcomes. As a Rutgers–Newark student, she is passionate about educational equity, access, and transformational public service. In her academic studies, she explores public policy, organizational management, and community engagement strategies aimed at improving public services and strengthening communities.
Shade is an active member of the Mountainview Community and NJ-STEP at Rutgers University–Newark and serves as the resource curator for the Mountainview Community Student Newsletter, contributing to initiatives that strengthen student and alumni engagement. She aspires to build a career in public administration within the criminal justice system, where she hopes to contribute to evidence-based policies, effective public programs, and initiatives that promote rehabilitation, successful reentry, and safer communities.
