Eeron “EJ” Wilson II is a current Ph.D. student at Rutgers University - Newark in the School of Criminal Justice who focuses on practical and theoretical policing contributions. As an emerging criminologist, he studies aspects of community policing, the intersection of race and policing institutions in various contexts, police misconduct, and non-police-related crime preventive measures. Moreover, he focuses on the spatial distribution of crime and misconduct to examine the spatial relationships between neighborhoods with heterogeneous populations and incidents of police violence.

Throughout his academic journey, Eeron has learned to utilize R Studio, ArcGIS, and other imperative methodologies in the field of criminology to conceptualize and closely examine the nuances of policing and promoting public safety. At the NPSC, Eeron uses his academic and personable skills to engage in community-based research, connect with community members and stakeholders, and support the Newark Public Safety Collaborative's goal of promoting and maintaining public safety
